Privacy Policy – Space Bugs
Last updated: 26 June 2026
NP LABS ("we", "us", or "our") operates the mobile game Space Bugs (the "Game"), available on Google Play (package name com.nplabs.spacebugs). This policy also covers the related editions Space Bugs [S] (com.nplabs.spacebugsstory) and Space Bugs [R] (com.nplabs.spacebugsrogue). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Game, how it is used, and the choices you have. By downloading or using the Game, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
The Game does not require you to create an account with us and does not ask you directly for personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number. However, some information is collected automatically or through the third-party services we use.
- Game progress and settings. Your progress and settings (levels reached, scores, owned items, in-game currency, and purchases) are stored locally on your device. If you sign in with Google Play Games, your progress may also be saved to Google's cloud ("Saved Games") and linked to your Play Games account, so you can restore it on other devices.
- Information collected automatically. Device and usage information (device model, operating system version, language, app version, and crash/diagnostic data) may be collected by Google services to provide and improve the Game.
- Advertising identifier. When advertisements are shown, Google AdMob may access your device's advertising ID and similar identifiers to serve and measure ads.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Game.
- To save and restore your game progress across devices (Google Play Games Services).
- To process in-app purchases (Google Play Billing).
- To display advertising and measure its performance (Google AdMob), in the Arcade mode of the free version.
- To analyze crashes and improve stability and performance.
3. Third-Party Services
- Google Play Services & Google Play Games Services — sign-in, achievements, and cloud saved games. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing — used to process in-app purchases. We do not receive or store your payment card details; payments are handled by Google.
- Google AdMob (advertising) — the free version shows advertisements in Arcade mode (banners, interstitials, and optional rewarded videos). See the AdMob policy and how Google uses information from apps.
4. Advertising and Your Choices
- Consent (EEA, UK, and Switzerland): where required by law, before showing ads we display a consent message (Google's User Messaging Platform) that lets you accept or manage how your data is used for personalized advertising. You can change your choice at any time.
- You can opt out of ad personalization in your device settings (Android: Settings › Google › Ads) and reset or limit your advertising ID.
- Removing ads: purchasing the full game (Story + Rogue, or the bundle) removes banner and interstitial ads.
5. In-App Purchases
The Game offers optional in-app purchases (for example, modules, power-ups, coin packs, game modes, and a bundle). Purchases are processed by Google Play and are tied to your Google account so they can be restored. Pricing and availability may vary by region.
6. Data Storage and Retention
- Local data (progress and settings) remains on your device until you uninstall the Game or clear its data.
- Cloud saved data remains associated with your Google Play Games account until you delete it.
- We do not operate our own servers that store your personal data.
7. Children's Privacy
The Game is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action. Where ads are shown, they are configured in accordance with Google Play's policies and the Game's content rating.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location (for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because most data is handled by Google as described above, you can exercise many of these rights directly through your Google account settings. You may also contact us using the details below.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Users
The third-party services we use may process data in countries other than your own. By using the Game, you acknowledge this transfer, storage, and processing.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in this document with an updated "Last updated" date.
